Star Cave
If it is the half moon and you are a medicine cat or if you are a leader and you
need the advice of MoonClan, come here and MoonClan will send you dreams.
Sparrowwing and Thistleclaw arrive at Star Cave. Sparrowwing goes inside and presses her nose to the wall. When she awakens, she is surrounded by cats. Cloudystar comes forward, along with Icestripe and seven other cats. "Are you ready Sparrowwing?" Cloudystar asks. "So you will accept me as leader?" Sparrowwing asks her. "Yes. You will lead ShadeClan well. Much better than I did. I was cowardly during the battle, and that was how I was killed. I deserted the Elite when I saw that the Clans were winning, and an Elite cat found me and killed me. It was the same with Icestripe. But I know you will not make the same mistake. You are brave, Sparrowwing. You are brave for going to meet Claws every night, even at the risk of your life. You are brave for fighting with your Clan even when defeat was inevitable. And you are brave for standing on High Tree just now and suggesting that you become the new leader of ShadeClan. And so, we will accept you and give you your nine lives." Icestripe came forward. "With this life I give you courage. Use it well to lead the Clan through all perils." Another cat came up. "With this life I give you mentorship. Use it well to teach the cats of your Clan." "With this life I give you hope. Use it well to keep the spirits of your Clan high when all seems lost." A tawny kit came forward. Sparrowwing recognized her as her third kit, who had died soon after it was born. "With this life I give you love. Use it well to guide your Clan, as love is the most powerful thing of all." "With this life I give you strength. Use it well to defend your Clan against all foes." "With this life I give you kindness. Use it well to be merciful when you need to." "With this life I give you bravery. Use it well to know what is right." Cloudystar comes forward again. "With this life I give you loyalty. Use it well to serve and guide your Clan. I hail you by your new name, Sparrowstar. Your old life is no more. You have now received the nine lives of a leader, and MoonClan grants you the guardianship of ShadeClan. Defend it well; care for young and old; honor your ancestors and the traditions of the warrior code; live each life with pride and dignity." Sparrowstar wakes up and pads out of the cave and back to camp.
"So, wait, who are we looking for?" Pottery asked, "Because I thought we were here so that we could-"
"Shush, Pottery! He said he would meet us, and he will! I don't doubt that. I just doubt his so called friends." Weasel mewed, turning his back to the cave entrance.
"And what was this loser's name again?" Pottery questioned, turning to Weasel, "And why are we meeting him?"
"He said his name was Shard and that he had what we needed. Now stop questioning me! We have Question to do that." Weasel growled.
"Fine. Be that way." Pottery said, turning away to sulk.
Leopardlight starts the ceremony. "I, Leopardlight, medicine cat of IceClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of a medicine cat, and with your help she will serve her Clan for many moons. Swiftpaw, do you promise to uphold the ways of a medicine cat, to stand apart from rivalry between Clan and Clan and to protect all cats equally, even at the cost of your life?" "I do." "Then by the powers of MoonClan I give you your true name as a medicine cat. Swiftpaw, from this moment you will be known as Swiftheart. MoonClan honors your willingness and faith, and we welcome you as a full medicine cat of IceClan." The two cats leave Star Cave to go back IceClan.
Pottery and Weasel watch Leopardlight and Swiftheart leave. Pottery turns to Weasel and says, "You know, I really think that Shard's plan might actually work."
"You think? I know it will work. And every single traitor will be flushed from the Clans." Weasel mews.
